Like any other working woman (or man, for that matter) I have a plethora of responsibilities I must tend to during the day. Driving Jake to school, picking him up, running errands, teaching Hebrew school, soccer practice and somehow fit all of this and my work into one day. By the time we finish and clean up from dinner I am ready to put on my PJs and relax. The last thing I want to do at this time is start talking on the phone. However, in the course of a busy day I will send numerous emails and text messages, but rarely do I speak live with my friends and family. It makes me wonder if at some point we will stop interacting with people all together? This is one reason I love being part of Neshot haTikvah. It connects me to other women who also want a connection and value making a difference in our Jewish world. In addition to our community, we are connected to a much larger network of other Sisterhoods across the country and even in Canada. The first week of November, four of our Neshot haTikvah members will be in Toronto for the WRJ (Women of Reform Judaism) conference. This is always a great opportunity for us to network with other women’s groups and learn from each other’s experiences. Our time will be filled with speakers and learning seminars in addition to some combined programs with the URJ biennial. I am looking forward to sharing and implementing the new ideas that we will bring back from the convention. If you have not joined Neshot haTikvah yet, I hope you will consider joining us as we continue to reinvent ourselves over the course of the year. I would encourage you to attend our next program. Watch the TBT TidBiTs (our weekly email update) for information.
