If it’s April, it must be SPRING. That means that taxes are due, spring cleaning is on our minds, rain should fall, and Passover is just around the corner. This year, being a Jewish leap year, Passover will fall late in April. This presents a special challenge for us in planning the school calendar. We serve three major school districts: Fullerton, Placentia/Yorba Linda, and Brea. Each of the districts has chosen a different week to observe spring break. That means that undoubtedly our Religious School spring break will probably fall while your child is in school. Likewise, your child will be on vacation from secular school while we still have class.
Our Religious School sessions are so few, and the reinforcement of Hebrew language is so crucial, that I would urge you to not succumb to the plea, “But Mom, it’s vacation. I don’t want to go to Religious/Hebrew School.” The message you send to your child by bringing him/her while our school is in session is that Judaism is important, despite what the secular world does.
Happy spring cleaning … and Happy Passover!
